The level of success which multi-millionaires and billionaires enjoy leaves other business owners, who work just as hard, frustrated. They’re curious and eager to find out exactly how these leaders are able to achieve a different result!
Everyone starts out with 24 hours in a day, and most business owners are driven to work long hours, sometimes even through the weekend. Yet this is not always enough!
Nowadays through social media channels like LinkedIn and Facebook, it’s also quite easy for business owners to expand their circle of influence.
So how are business celebrities such as Tony Robbins, Jack Canfield, Janet Switzer, Kim Kiyosaki, Mark Victor Hansen and Roger Hamilton, capable of a never-ending flow of masterful inventiveness, turning their businesses into formidables forces to be reckoned with?
It’s a question I’ve been asking myself for many years as well, and the answer eluded me until very recently when a trusted friend introduced me to the Money & You event.
I was skeptical about attending the event at first, but looking through the website I found that previous attendees were industry leaders I had great respect for. I knew straightaway this wasn’t one of those event where you have to sit through one pitch after another by so called experts whose only intention is to sell you their products or coaching packages.
Also, if legends such as those mentioned above had gained the ability to reinvent and renew their businesses in some totally remarkable, fascinating and hugely profitable ways, I knew this was the event I had to attend.
If it was good enough for them, it was good enough for me.
Making the Shift – From Linear to Divergent Thinking
From the very outset, I was impressed in the way organisers had structured the event.
Most of the events I attended previously were classroom style events, where participants listen to a speaker and take copious notes to help them recollect the content and apply what they have learned in their business.
While there was a learning component in Money & You, what set this event apart was participant interaction in the form of interactive games designed to test how individuals react when faced with challenging situations.
How one behaves in games is an indication of how one behaves in a real-life business situation. The games provided participants with an understanding of how behaviour in difficult situations impacts business results.
Most business owners think in linear, reactive terms, limited only to whatever we have personally experienced. A lot of what we learn from business books, seminars, magazine and online is theoretical.
Money & You teaches you how to nurture and nourish your ability to think more divergently, rather than convergently. By learning to look at all the implications, correlations, causations that impact our business results, we can set our businesses above the competition, set our minds apart from how every other competitor thinks or looks at market opportunities.
Why is this important? If no one else thinks the same way, you accelerate and dramatically multiply your business performance against everyone else.
Networking With Visionaries
Throughout the four days, there were ample opportunities to network with like-minded visionaries. Most of the attendees at the event were decision makers in profitable businesses who were seeking transformational change, so they could grow their businesses exponentially, while making a positive impact on the planet.
The value in the joint venture connections and referral opportunities which resulted from the event, itself were well worth the cost paid to attend the event.
Money & You, isn’t an event for the faint hearted. Attendees are put through a gruelling schedule over four days, one of which is as long as 17 hours.
I came away from the event with a profound shift in my thinking around decision making. It’s almost like pressing a reset button in my mind to what’s required for playing the business game on a much higher threshold.
The significant investment I made to attend the event has been worthwhile and, I have already commenced the process of making massive shifts in my business.
In my honest opinion, this event deserves an 8 out of 10 rating.
